Documental Primera Línea (Español e Inglés)

Cali - Colombia

Story

Documentary: The Front Line

Cali, Colombia

With the protests from the last two weeks in Colombia, a group of young people have emerged that form the so-called Front Line. Their objective: to protect protesters from confrontations with the police. These young men and women have been accused of vandalism and what we intend with this audiovisual production is to repaint the false image and deconstruct the concept of the front line, as well as the protests.

Who are they? How has their family conformed?

Why are they protesting? What was the trigger that prompted them to take to the streets?

What are the individual dreams of these people and what are your country’s dreams?

We have conducted at least 30 interviews in the city of Cali.  The life stories are really heartbreaking and we want to share them with the world and show the human face, the reasons, and the motivations for the protest.

For more than 18 days Colombians have taken to the streets to protest, demanding solutions to the economic crisis derived from the COVID-19 pandemic and opposing a tax increase, which affects health, wages, and pensioners.

To date, the protests have filed numerous complaints of rape, more than 32 dead, more than 200 injured and thousands have ‘disappeared. Due to the excessive force used by Police and directed and commanded by the president of Colombia, Iván Duque, in front of a peaceful demonstration that only claims basic rights.

We want to humanize the protest and reaffirm the fundamental rights of women and men in this country.

We will donate 10% of the resources collected to support civil, indigenous, and community organizations that resist day and night on the streets of these cities and require food and medical supplies every day.

In this campaign, you can donate whatever you want, but you can also access a reward.

For any donation, your name will appear in the credits of the documentary.

If you donate 50 dollars ($ 175,000 COP) you can have an original copy of the production of the documentary notes.

If you donate 90 dollars ($ 315,000 COP), in addition to having an original copy of the documentary, you can have a flagship t-shirt of this fight and resistance, both will be sent (only within Colombia at the moment) in beautiful packaged and designed and made by the young people of the first line.

It is important that you can send proof of your donation to the following email:
