On Wednesday, June 7, 2023, my life changed. I discovered I had cancer—a complex word carrying so much baggage, with such a strong meaning we attach to it. But when you genuinely begin to understand what it means beyond the scientific definition, you realize it's not as bad as it sounds. It's just another disease that many people face. Some have lost their lives to cancer, but many more have overcome it or are living with it today.
