Historia

The Wacoyo Indigenous Reservation was legally recognized in 1992 and is currently composed of 45 communities, including La Palma and La Ceiba, which bring together 25 families in the municipality of Puerto Gaitán (Meta), located in the Colombian eastern plains.

The money collected will be invested in the installation of the roof, floor and walls of the Community Care Unit -CCU- "Wisibo", a space in which 23 children will be able to access educational and cultural activities such as the Social Cinema, which shows cartoon films for teaching children values and strengthening the social fabric.

This is not the first CCU that we have helped build. In the last two years, Fundación Pervivir has restored 8 CCUs in other indigenous reservations, having successful cases that demonstrate the social transformation in children and young people by increasing their sense of belonging and appropriation for the community schoolhouse. They resignify the concept of learning because they have a safe place where they are given love, food, playful activities and new fun experiences, for which they are excited to learn and develop their personality in their second home.
